Senior Loan Officer / Loan Officer

Perform the duties required to originate mortgage loans including examining, evaluating, and recommending customer applications for real estate loans. Develop business contacts, attract mortgage customers, close loans in an accurate and timely manner, and provide quality relations with borrowers throughout the loan process.

Responsible for all branch issues (per licensing rules). Day-to-day responsibilities—primary contact for payroll and manages payroll for the branch, secondary marketing, overseeing the post-closing process, compliance, and corporate relations. Involved in strategic planning and implementation of corporate initiatives, as well as branch initiatives.

Management of specific branch location including any day-to-day issues of staff at location and anything having to do with location’s operations and security.

Handles all functions, activities, and responsibilities pertaining to operations, pipe management, and compliance (with regards to file flow and the processing of files). Manages all training, coaching and day-to-day management of all Operations staff.

Handles all functions, activities, and responsibilities pertaining to office operations including accounting, new hire, and other general responsibilities.

Review real estate loan packages from originators on the viability of loans presented. Responsibilities include either accepting or declining to fund a loan package, per company guidelines, ensuring compliance to appropriate state, federal, company, and secondary market investor standards and works up conditions for loan acceptance.

Responsible for preparation of loan closing documents, balancing the funding wire with corporate, and ensuring all conditions on the loan are met and signed off by the appropriate parties.

Responsible for processing and preparing retail mortgage loans for closing under various loan programs in accordance with policies and procedures and inputting necessary data into the current LOS. Acts as a liaison between borrower, underwriter, and loan officer.

Responsible for responding to customer inquiries and referrals generate from both their own contacts and the assigned loan officers’ business. Provide assistance to their assigned loan officer including sales assistance, loan coordination, document collection, customer service, and follow through with all facets of the loan origination process to the assigned loan officers.

Management of wholesale loan department including any day-to-day operations as well as soliciting new broker accounts and maintaining existing broker relationships while adhering to minimum funding volume standards set by corporate.
